KMCH recognised by NHS England in support of 10 Year Health Plan
We’re proud to share that Keeping My Chest Healthy (KMCH) has been featured by NHS England as part of its regional spotlight on the North East and Yorkshire, highlighting local innovation that supports the newly published 10 Year Health Plan.
Fit for the Future, the plan sets out a bold and ambitious course for the NHS — one that moves:
- From hospital to community — bringing quality care closer to home
- From analogue to digital — creating a seamless, tech-enabled experience
- From sickness to prevention — helping people stay well for longer
KMCH is highlighted as a practical example of how services are already shifting focus to early detection, tackling root causes of poor health, and empowering people to take greater control of their wellbeing.
Developed by Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust in 2021, KMCH was ahead of the curve, championing a proactive, community-based approach to respiratory health for people with learning disabilities. Through co-produced education and a focus on prevention, the programme helps reduce chest infections, avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, and promote healthier, more independent lives.
