The training package, whilst a refresher for some of our team was really enlightening to others. Having recent relevant research all in one place was very helpful. It has helped to gain commitment from members of the CLDT in trying to tackle respiratory inequalities within our population.
The Respiratory Screening tool is now a standard part of the nursing triage process and is encouraging those conversations with new referrals as standard.
The assessment process and KMCH care plan allows us to look at the preventative measures in a holistic manner. The care plan has been well received by carers who find it easy to follow.
The guidance and support received from the team at Bradford, particularly Donna and Tracy has been second to none. They are clearly passionate and driven to make a difference. They continue to strive for improvement and to share that improvement with others. For me, the experience of being a part of this pilot has been invaluable.

As part of the pilot phase, we had the opportunity to access the excellent CPD training with access to the full suite of resources, including the respiratory screening tool, holistic assessment, and care planning documents.
The structured, evidence-informed model developed by Bradford enabled us to establish our own multi-disciplinary respiratory clinics here in Lancashire, directly following their example. This has had a clear and positive impact on the quality of care we are able to offer to people with learning disabilities and respiratory needs.
The collaboration and support we have received from the Bradford team has been exceptional. This shared learning experience has led to meaningful cross-regional partnership working, which we hope to continue building on. The Keeping My Chest Healthy project is an excellent example of innovation, co-production, and practical application making a real difference to patient care.

Digital clinical tools
Risk scoring tool – a simple scoring system to identify modifiable respiratory risks
Holistic assessment tool – captures clinical, environmental and lifestyle factors
Baseline recording tool – establishes the person’s own ‘well’ baseline
Custom-branded KMCH accessible respiratory care plan template (PDF), with QR-coded links to the KMCH digital hub and the organisation’s logo
Training
Access to 8 online training modules supporting adoption of the KMCH pathway
4 CPD accreditation points, validated through the CPD Accreditation Service
Ongoing access to training updates for the duration of the licence
What support is available?
To support safe, consistent and sustainable adoption of KMCH, organisations also receive a one-off set-up and implementation support package in year one.
This includes:
Pathway set-up and consultancy sessions with KMCH Leads, supporting local adaptation and implementation
Manager resources to support governance, workforce engagement and embedding the pathway into practice
Strategic insight and evaluation feedback drawn from staff CPD training
Custom-branded resources, including QR-coded materials linking to the KMCH digital hub, with organisational branding and homepage listing
This support ensures KMCH is embedded into local systems rather than added on as a standalone initiative.
What are the licencing options?
KMCH is offered through a transparent licensing model, with costs structured to reflect organisation size and support safe implementation.
Costs include:
a one-off set-up and implementation fee (year one only)
an annual organisation licence fee, scaled by team size
Discounted rates are available for 3-year (10%) and 5-year (20%) licences.
